Shockwave Therapy
Leading The Way
Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is an evidence based, effective, safe and non-invasive treatment for stubborn soft tissue musculoskeletal conditions, and problems affecting the tendons. It is now seen by medical specialists as an alternative to invasive corticosteroid injections and surgery as it is clinically proven to stimulate the natural healing process - resulting in reduced pain.
Our clinic was the first in Perth to offer Shockwave Therapy treatment and over the last five years we have achieved great results with our clients. We always include combining Shockwave Therapy treatments with personalised rehabilitation exercises for effective long term results.
Patients receiving Shockwave Therapy can expect to feel a reduction in pain and quickened healing of the problematic area and return to function quicker than physiotherapy alone.

As Chartered physiotherapists we are approved providers of Shockwave Therapy for the treatment of common muscular- skeletal conditions. A full clinical assessment of your condition is necessary to identify whether Shockwave Therapy is an appropriate treatment.
If appropriate, a course of Shockwave Therapy is typically three sessions, each a week apart alongside advice on management and rehabilitation exercises. A review appointment is also booked.
We have the highest quality Zimmer enPuls 2.0 Shockwave Machine at FMK Physiotherapy and Health. The machine is pre-calibrated to treat all the conditions that Shockwave Therapy is appropriate for and can also be manually adjusted for increased comfort during treatment.
After Shockwave Therapy many people experience an immediate improvement in symptoms with pain reduction and increased movement in the affected area. It is important to listen to the prescribed aftercare advice. Best results may take six to ten weeks from the final treatment with continuing exercises to be undertaken.
