Pain & Injury Management

FMK Massage

What is pain & injury management?

Our Physio team, including Pain & Injury Specialists, work closely together to manage sports related injuries with assessment, treatment, and exercises. We often get football players with hamstring tears, meniscus issues and calf problems in runners. If you do sport or enjoy exercise and have suffered an injury during the activity this appointment type is for you.

We also suggest management through regular Sports Massage sessions for people who do a lot of sport or fitness to prevent future injuries occurring through repetitive overuse and strain.

Without a good recovery routine and check-up, small niggles can lead to having to take time out or away from the gym or sports field which then has a knock-on effect to your wellbeing and lifestyle. We suggest when you can to make this a regular part of your routine to stay in good health, even when you aren’t injured or in pain.

Got an injury, what happens?

Our dedicated Sports Therapists will guide you through an assessment, giving you an explanation as to why you are experiencing pain and advice about the injury.

You will then be given hands on treatment at your first appointment and exercises to help you between your sessions.

At your return appointment you will be reassessed and given further treatment according to your progress. Exercises will also be advanced as you reach your goals.

You can then opt to further your progress with Exercised based rehabilitation sessions, classes or ongoing maintenance through sports massage treatments.
